Grease an 8x8 pan and line with parchment paper (allow the paper to hang over the edges).
Lightly grease paper again.
Pour red batter into pan.
Bake according to directions, but keep an eye on it as it may need to come out early.
Let cool completely (I put in in fridge to hurry along the process).
Lift out cake and cut 24 hearts.
Mix pudding cup into remaining batter.
Fill cupcake tins halfway.
Place heart cut outs gently into batter (Important: Make sure they are all centered and facing the same way).
Fill cupcakes with remaining batter.
Bake according to box directions (may need more time due to pudding).
Insert a toothpick and make sure it comes out clean.

When cupcakes are cooled make sure you keep them foward facing (I poked toothpicks into the sides to indicate what direction the hearts were in).
Frost.
Use candy or flags to indicate where the heart is.
Eat towards the flag or candy to see the shape.

Just popped over from Sweet Happy Life and saw these cupcakes. LOVE. And another good excuse to bake for Valentines Day. :)
These cupcakes are amazing! I have a hard enough time getting them to come out right plain, but with a heart in the middle? You rock!
